Free-form Curves Quilt Block Workshop $75 CLASS FULL – WAITLIST ONLY

Learn to make unique 12” quilt blocks with curves without templates or patterns. Students can combine multiple blocks into a fun original design as a quilt, pillow or wall hanging. Students will learn techniques to be able to take home and complete a “flimsy” top for quilting. Shirt Off His Back Nine-Patch Quilt Workshop $90

Reuse, repurpose, recycle — and make! Learn how to deconstruct shirts from thrift or cast-offs, to get usable fabric for making a simple nine-patch quilt block. A great workshop for novice or experienced sewists/quilters and those interested in finding ways to sew and quilt more sustainably. The first portion we will learn to take apart shirts and prepare for cutting into pieces for quilting. The second portion we will learn to sew the nine-patch blocks together and explore how to use remaining small pieces for use in quilting. Click here for materials list and to register.

BASIC IMPROV QUILTING SERIES
Basic Improv Quilting: Part 1 “Getting to the Top”  $270 CLASS FULL – WAITLIST ONLY 
Wednesdays, 9/11-10/16/2024 (6 classes)  6:00-9:00pm
Learn the basics of “improv” quilting with creative freedom and without the restrictive rules that can overwhelm new (and even experienced!) quilters! In six sessions, students will learn the fundamentals of constructing a quilt and more than 6+ quilt blocks and techniques which allow learners to springboard into their own unique arrangements and creations. Students will complete a pieced “flimsy” top, ready to be quilted.
This class is for you if you are:
• A novice who has used a sewing machine but never made a quilt
• A quilter wishing to expand your creativity without use of a prescribed pattern
• Seeking weekly space & time for personal creativity and meeting others like you in a wonderful sewing space!

Basic Improv Quilting: Part 2 “Finish Line”  $225
Wednesdays, 10/23-11/20/2024, 6:00-9:00pm
Students will learn how to make a completed quilt from a fabric quilt top “flimsy” and all the steps to turn it into a finished quilt or wall hanging. Students will learn about making a “quilt sandwich” with a top, batting and fabric backing. They will learn how to baste their quilt sandwich and the basics of quilting by machine and/or by hand. Finally, students will learn how to finish their quilt edge using a choice of binding techniques. Click here for materials list and to register.
